Tivoli Day Trip: Villa d'Este & Hadrian's Villa

A full day out to the hill town of Tivoli — the Renaissance fountains and terraced gardens of Villa d'Este in the morning, the vast ruins of Hadrian's country retreat in the afternoon. Coach transfer included.

The two sites are a few kilometres apart and not comfortably walkable between within the day's time budget, so independent travellers need to plan the connection (local bus or taxi) in advance rather than assuming it's straightforward on arrival — a coach tour removes this problem by building the transfer in. Wear comfortable shoes for both: Hadrian's Villa in particular is a large, mostly uneven site with real walking distances between its various ruins.
